Black and Salt and Pepper Sand...where is it from???

People are always asking us where the black sand comes from!?  We usually find this sand after a storm on Sunshine Beach, Noosa where the fresh water runs into the ocean from the dunes.

For the Salt and Pepper we carefully scrape off the top layer, wash it and place it into our rings.

For the black sand, it's a process but with patience we can separate the two because the black sand weights more than the regular sand. 

We need to work fast before it all gets washed out to sea.
